Facilities and resources

Our school offers a wide range of spaces, tools and resources to support student learning and development. We have state-of-the-art facilities at our campus and programs designed to utilise these spaces to grow our students’ skills in and out of the classroom.

Our school facilities

Our campus, combined with our student opportunities, offer outstanding opportunities to support the learning and growth of our students.

Our on-site spaces include:

Resources and Technology

Lindfield Learning Village uses a range of learning resources to enhance our students' learning experience.

Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards which offer flexibility when teaching.

We also have customised maker spaces all throughout our campus that are equipped with the resources and devices needed to work on creative and practical projects.

We have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy, where students are encouraged to bring in their own laptops to use programs such as Canvas and Sentral to access the learning materials for each day. We can provide loan devices on request.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) allows students to use personal mobile electronic devices at school to access the NSW Department of Education (DoE) Wi-Fi network for appropriate learning activities, accessing resources and to research material. The term 'device' refers to any mobile electronic equipment, including assistive technologies brought into the school, which are owned by the student and have the capability of connecting to the DoE's Wi-Fi network. We have chosen a BYOD model that will meet the needs of most families. Stage 3+ students are permitted to bring their own device to school, however, the device will need to meet the device specifications which are published as part of the school BYOD policy.

Before students bring their devices to school, they will be required to sign the online communication services, technology and BYOD user charter agreement that sets out students' responsibilities associated with the use of internet and online communication services at the school.

BYOD Requirements

Our BYOD program requires students from Stage 3 and up to use their own Windows or Mac laptop.

Mobile phones/smartphones and iPads are not supported in the program. Chromebooks can be used but do not have many of the features and programs available to NSW DoE students.

As such, we do not recommend Chromebooks for student devices. Device requirements are:

  • Minimum 11.6-inch display
  • Windows or MacOS operating system (Windows is free for all NSW DoE students)
  • Wifi connection via 802.11n Wifi standard on the dual band both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz frequency
  • Advertised battery life of six hours or more.
  • 4GB minimum Ram
  • Solid state disk memory storage of 128GB or more
  • 2kg max weight
  • Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser installed.

It is also useful to consider having the following:

  • Suitable protective case and/cover
  • USB 2.0 and/or 3.0 ports
  • Accidental loss and breakage insurance and/or warranty.

If you are not familiar with these specifications, it's a good idea to show these requirements to any store that carries a range of computers.

Keep in mind that your student has free access to Microsoft Windows and Office. Students are responsible for having their devices charged and ready to use for the day.

Software is available to students for free via the NSW DoE Student Portal. This includes:

  • Windows operating system
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Minecraft Education Edition
  • Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Programs Suite (Secondary Only).
  • Google Suite
  • Canva
